In the thick of never ending winter, students end up with lots of wiggles, even those older middle schoolers need timej to roam. Still 6th grade came in and settled down to homework and books, keeping their volume level to a whisper and earned a whole day of whisper time.
Kindergarten KSAM and KSPM enjoyed the story of Splat The Cat! I had lots of wiggling ears as I read this one. If youu haven't heard about our hand signals during library, ask your kindergartner what it means to "Giggle with your ears." Also, Splat the Cat's author Rob Scotton has released a trailer for his new Splat book and you can see it here at his site: http://www.robscotton.com/www.robscotton.com/Secret_Agent_Splat_trailer.html
4th grade has been assigned their Dear America book report. I have to say this is one of my favorite book events of the year for all the grades. I love these books and I love how excited the kids get as they read about fiction based on real American survival stories. I do wish we had more "boy" diaries, so keep us in mind if you ever feel inclined to pick up books to donate.
